Its hard to think that it was over a year ago that the wife and I were sunning ourselves in Koh Samui on what has ended up being our final holiday before adding a rugrat to the family. 3 months to go, but who’s counting!
While in Koh Samui we ate. A lot. Our final night we shared a massive degustation at a little place called “Dinning on The Rocks”. It was fancy waiters, Australian prices, golf carts and an obnoxious group of aussies behind us that couldn’t be pleased.
However, the night was brilliant, and we shared a number of amazing dishes. The fish and chips was stunning
And the desert, while simple, was elegantly put together, with nods to both western and thai cuisine.
However, over the year I have forgotten how they tasted, the unique taste of each element (that’s Masterchef talk for you).
Except for one. Buried in the middle of the meal, possibly around 7th course was a canned tuna fish sandwich.
It was incredible. Presentation was one thing, the flavours were something else. All the flavours combined to be something absolutely incredible. In reality it was just a tuna sandwich. It was magically put together.
So, someday soon you will see my attempt at a tuna fish sandwich. And you’ll know where I got it from!
